This week I have the honor of hosting the Sewcialites QAL. I designed a block called Zest and this block layout has a lot of options. You can make it with just 2 colors or you can go for the more scrappy look by using a different fabric for each small piece of the block. Keep it simple and modern or a little more extravagant. Do you already know what you are going for?

The next block of the Sewcialites Quilt Along is designed by Lisa Bongean. It’s a very crisp and minimalist block design that you could also use to make a lovely 2-colored quilt out of this block alone. Beautiful in all its simplicity giving it a modern look. Let’s have a look!

The designer of this week in our Sewcialites Sew Along is Lissa Alexander. Lissa quilts with heart and soul. She loves making scrappy quilts, and quilting with only 2 colors. The block she designed for us this week is called Unity. Go check out the blog post to read all about Lissa’s designs and download the pattern for her block.

The designer for this week’s block in our Sewcialites Sew Along is Corey Yoder. She designed a star-burst block with a little heart in the center. Really adorable. This block would also be lovely for Valentine’s Day to maybe make some coasters to use at your Valentine’s dinner? Let’s have a look.

This week we bring a little “PEACE” into your quilting practice with block 17 in our Sewcialites QAL. The designer of this week is Anne Sutton, a true applique fan and lover of all things vintage. Check out what she designed for our sampler quilt.

These days, with the pandemic still going on we can use a few good friends, right? And that’s why these Quilt Alongs are so important. The community we have on Facebook, the Sewcialites Lounge is filled with like-minded people. And Fat Quarter Shop even has a life-stream every Friday on their YouTube channel. A perfect place to meet up with your quilting friends and make this week’s block together.

We are moving on with our Sewcialites quilt along with this week’s block GENUINE by Lori Holt. We are four month into this QAL now, but you can still hop on the train, because we have another six months of beautiful blocks to come! For our Sewcialites QAL this week we have Susan Ache with Block 13. She called her Block Joy. Great name at this time of year if you ask me. By the way, we have already gotten a third of all free blocks in this quilt! But that doesn't mean it's too late to join. You can jump right in and start sewing along any time!

This week’s block in our Sewcialites QAL is hosted by Camille Roskelley, who made her first quilt at the age of 14. That was certainly due to the influence of her quilting mom, Bonnie Olaveson, who hosted the QAL just a few weeks ago. In 2007, Camille started her own business “Thimble Blossoms” and has been a busy quilting mother herself ever since. Go check out the beautiful block she designed for our Sewcialites Sampler Quilt.
