Can you believe the Sewcialites Quilt Along is almost over? I almost say, because even though the free blocks are all shared in the quilting community, we still have a quilt to make. In this blog post I am giving some tips on how to put together the final layout I created and what materials you will need for it. And last but not least, let's take a look at what the other quilters made of this beautiful sampler quilt!

Welcome back to the last block in the Sewcialites QAL. This block is by Corey Yoder and has such an appropriate name being the last one: Kindness. I feel that every quilter and designer that contributed to Sewcialites has been so kind by donating a piece of their creativity. They enabled us to practice more techniques and add to our sewing skills and to connect with like-minded people. That’s what this QAL was all about and I’m glad I was a part of it.

Welcome to week 35 in our Sewcialites Quilt Along. This is already the penultimate block for our sampler quilt! Can you believe it? It was designed by Anne Sutton and she named it COMPASSION. In this post you can read all about what Compassion means and how it relates to the quilting community in my point of view. I tell you more about Anne and what her specialty is and you can win amazing prizes again.

I’m sure you are probably as passionate about quilting as I am. And so is our designer of the week for our Sewcialites sew Along, Carrie Nelson. Welcome to week 33 in our Sewcialites Sew Along. This week’s designer is Lori Holt of Bee in my Bonnet and the block she created is very typical for her style. In Lori’s work, we see a lot of tangible figures like the sewing machine she made for our sampler quilt. Read our blog post to find out which smaller blocks she used to piece it together.

Happy Friday! It’s week 32 in our Sewcialites Quilt Along and our designer of the week is Chelsi Stratton who designs together with her mom for Moda. Chelsi typically works with bright colors. No wonder she named her block BRIGHT too. For my interpretation of her block I used a light blue from my SPOTTED collection together with a low volume from my PAPER series. Definitely brightens the mood, doesn't it?

This week we’re going to sew block 31 in our Sewcialites Quilt Along. It’s a beautiful geometric design by Susan Ache, which you can perfectly use to play with contrasting fabrics. It’s week 30 in our Sewcialites Quilt Along and the we have another lovely block for you to add to your sampler quilt. This week’s designer is the talented Camille Roskelley with her block GRATITUDE. Have a look and find out what I am especially grateful for when it comes to sewing.

This week we’re going to add some delight to our Sewcialites sampler quilt. Barbara Groves and Mary Jacobson from Me and My Sister Designs have designed this week’s block and called it Delight. Take a look at my interpretation of their lovely design with fabrics from my SPOTTED and PAPER collections.

It’s week 28 of the Sewcialites Quilt along and we have another lovely block for you. The designer of this week is April Rosenthal and her block is made of big squares, little squares, and a few half square triangles, which makes it easy to understand, whether you are a beginner or a seasoned quilter. Come, have a look!

Welcome back to another block in our Sewcialites Quilt Along from Fat Quarter Shop. We are in week 26 already and this week’s block is designed by Joanna Figueroa. Joanna’s quilts are always full of color, bright, fresh, and a delight to see. Take a look at what she designed for our sampler quilt!

Like every Friday there is a new block in our Sewcialites QAL today! The designer of this week is Bonnie Olaveson. Together with her daughter, she designs fabric collections for Moda Fabrics. The block she designed for our sampler quilt is called VIRTUE and there are many virtues in quilting… don’t you think? Check it out!

Welcome to a new week and therefore another block in the Sewcialites Quilt Along from Fat Quarter Shop. Our designer of the week is Sherri McConnell, the owner and quilter of A Quilting Life. Have a look at her lovely geometric block pattern she provided for our sampler quilt.

We continue with Block 22 in our Sewcialites QAL. This week’s block is called “Blessed” and is brought to you by Vanessa Goertzen. Vanessa is the owner and quilter of Lella Boutique, which has a lovely story behind it’s name… read more to find out about it!

This week I have the honor of hosting the Sewcialites QAL. I designed a block called Zest and this block layout has a lot of options. You can make it with just 2 colors or you can go for the more scrappy look by using a different fabric for each small piece of the block. Keep it simple and modern or a little more extravagant. Do you already know what you are going for?

The next block of the Sewcialites Quilt Along is designed by Lisa Bongean. It’s a very crisp and minimalist block design that you could also use to make a lovely 2-colored quilt out of this block alone. Beautiful in all its simplicity giving it a modern look. Let’s have a look!

The designer of this week in our Sewcialites Sew Along is Lissa Alexander. Lissa quilts with heart and soul. She loves making scrappy quilts, and quilting with only 2 colors. The block she designed for us this week is called Unity. Go check out the blog post to read all about Lissa’s designs and download the pattern for her block.
